Bespoke and NNAS Navigation Training
The National Navigation Award Scheme is a progressive personal performance programme

The scheme develops navigation skills, helping you to enjoy the outdoors safely and confidently.  The scheme is progressive and open to people of all ages and ability.  The scheme comprises of the Outdoor Discovery Awards for children and the Navigator Awards for adults.  Prepared-4 Ltd can now offer extensive training in both the NNAS Syllabi as well as bespoke navigation training, including GPS and GIS training.

Knowing how to find your way around is a particularly useful skill, whether you a climber, mountaineer, hill walker or someone who has an interest in navigation techniques.  Confident and efficient route finding and responsible access are the keys to unlock the enjoyment of places from the countryside to the mountains.

Outdoor Discovery Awards encourage the exploration of local areas using simple maps such as street maps and park maps.  The Navigator Awards cover the full range of skills needed for navigation in all terrain types, including limited and night time visibility.  Each award is offered at three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

An individual who is just starting to explore outdoor experiences may start with the Bronze Outdoor Discovery Award (1-Star), whilst someone who has some basic knowledge may start with the Bronze Navigator Award.  Each level of proficiency is taught as a self-contained unit and completion of a level is validated to a national standard with certification that is included in the cost of the course.  Complete either training, or training and assessment together and all P4 Navigation Instructors are members of the Royal Institute of Navigation and hold MLT(UK) National Awards.
